About Me
Dee Adkins is a Certified Peer Support Specialist with Calm Waters Counseling, where he works with individuals navigating behavioral health, recovery, and life challenges. His approach is grounded in respect, collaboration, self-determination, and the belief that meaningful change is strengthened when people are supported in identifying their own goals and building on their existing strengths.
A U.S. Army combat veteran, Dee brings both professional training and lived experience to his work. His background includes peer support, veterans outreach and advocacy, service learning, and community involvement. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work and plans to continue his education toward clinical social work licensure. His long-term goal is to provide trauma-informed clinical services while continuing to advocate for veterans and others affected by trauma, behavioral health challenges, and systemic barriers.
Dee is especially interested in the intersection of peer support, evidence-based behavioral health care, advocacy, and social work. He values ethical practice, professional boundaries, accountability, and meeting people where they are while helping them move toward the lives they want to build.
