About Me
My work is grounded in the belief that every client deserves a safe, respectful space to explore their experiences, understand themselves more fully, and move toward a life that reflects their values. I primarily work with clients experiencing trauma, depression, and anxiety. I have a particular passion for supporting individuals affected by religious trauma, cults, and high-demand religious environments, including those who are questioning, deconstructing, redefining, or leaving their faith. I approach this deeply personal process without judgment or a predetermined outcome, honoring each client’s autonomy and individual path.
I integrate several evidence-based approaches into therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Treatment is tailored to the client’s needs, goals, cultural background, and lived experience. I am also pursuing certification in sex therapy and currently practice under the supervision of an AASECT-certified supervisor.
My commitment to serving others began when I was 16 and volunteered with The Salvation Army. I helped provide meals to unhoused individuals, assisted people in obtaining public transportation passes, and cleaned the facility. That experience introduced me to the importance of accessible, compassionate services and helped me discover my passion for working with underserved communities.
I earned both my bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in counseling from Boise State University. In addition to my clinical focus on trauma, depression, and anxiety, I have extensive experience in addiction treatment and hold a graduate certificate in addiction studies. I also have more than a decade of experience working alongside refugees, including helping individuals prepare for the United States citizenship examination.
I currently serve on the board of the Idaho Association of Sexual Health Professionals (ISHP). In this role, I monitor and advise the board regarding legal and legislative developments in Idaho that affect sexual health, reproductive healthcare, bodily autonomy, and related rights.
Outside of counseling, I am passionate about raising my children to be safe, accepting, and compassionate people for every person they encounter. I enjoy reading as many books as I can get my hands on and coaching my son’s Little League team and my daughter’s softball team.
